About the Role

As a Kitchen Assistant at N Family, you will support our Chef in preparing nutritious meals for children and the nursery team, contributing to a menu that ensures everyone's health and happiness. Your dedication will help establish N Family Club as the most loved early years education group in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Assist with cooking fresh, tasty, and nutritious meals for children and the team.
• Ensure meals meet nutritional needs for different age groups and follow food safety and choking guidelines.
• Support the Chef in catering to diverse dietary needs for all ages.
• Prepare daily lunches and smoothies for the nursery team, accommodating various diets and preferences.
• Assist the Chef with kitchen paperwork, including cleaning schedules and daily safety logs.
• Order supplies and manage stock to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Maintain the kitchen to a 5-star Food Hygiene standard.
• Build professional relationships with parents regarding their children's food.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or nursery kitchen.
• Experience catering for a diverse range of dietary needs.
• A passion for food creativity and working with children and families.
• A genuine interest in cooking with long-term culinary career goals.
• Willingness to adopt conscious practices in food and cooking, including recycling and minimizing food waste.
• Ability to work quickly and effectively during busy service times.
• A positive outlook.
• Drive and motivation with a 'make it happen' attitude.
• Love for customer service.
