About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable Project Manager to lead strategically critical, Tier 1 initiatives end-to-end within our Markets Program, which aims to modernize ASX’s clearing and risk systems to strengthen resilience, enhance customer experience, and support future business growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead a delivery team and manage day-to-day project activities, issues, risks, and action items.
- Manage change management and stakeholder engagement to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Lead and deliver program/project experience specializing in financial risk initiatives.
- Plan and manage the end-to-end delivery of complex projects.
- Formulate business cases with the program owner and key stakeholders for funding approval.
- Lead the development and implementation of predictive and adaptive project management plans.
- Manage the delivery of technical and non-technical components, including external components and change management.
- Lead project budgets, financial forecasts, risk, issue, and resource planning and reporting.
- Ensure alignment with governance and execution standards defined by the Delivery Centre of Excellence and EPMO.
- Drive program/project governance, including strategic guidance groups and steering committees.
- Interface with portfolio governance groups, vendors, delivery managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare project updates, performance metrics, and reporting for Board, C-Suite, and Regulatory audiences.
- Lead interviewing and hiring processes in assigned areas and provide input into performance evaluations.
- Use leadership and soft skills to drive stakeholder engagement and develop high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Be an active member of the PM Community of Practice (CoP).
Requirements
- Sound understanding of and practical experience within financial markets, particularly Clearing and Risk.
- Successfully delivered large complex financial projects spanning technology and business with inter-dependencies.
- Successfully driven solutions and accountability across teams in a hybrid/agile environment and across multiple key vendors.
- Proven strong communication, facilitation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and vendors at all levels.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with individuals and executive-level steering groups.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with effective problem-solving skills.
- Good eye for detail.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a willingness to continuously improve.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Australia on a permanent basis without restrictions.
