About the Role

Join our team as a Deli Clerk to prepare and cook meals in a professional kitchen environment. We are looking for individuals passionate about food to help customers make healthy choices at one of the fastest-growing natural foods retailers.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in making healthy food choices by preparing fresh and easy meals
• Provide high-level customer service
• Ensure Deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
• Maintain cleanliness of the Deli department area
• Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
• Prepare special orders and party trays
• Operate meat and cheese slicers, ovens, microwaves, cutting tools, and scales
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary deli area and equipment
• Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality
• Answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in grocery, restaurant, or related field
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs for a distance of 20 feet
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Ability to work in different temperature environments including coolers and freezers
• Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
