About the Role

The Technician I - DAS will be responsible for a variety of field service functions, including installing antennas, repeaters, head-end equipment, and other DAS devices, while learning to complete sweep, PIM, and fiber testing.

Responsibilities

  • Install DAS wireless equipment using external and internal antennas, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, CAT 5 cable, and other appropriate components to NEC standard at customer job sites.
  • Commission and optimize DAS and signal booster equipment for public safety installations using manufacturer’s procedures and field equipment.
  • Conduct Pre & Post install RF signal readings per fire code requirements.
  • Perform cable sweep testing (VSWR, RL, DTF, PIM) using test equipment.
  • Troubleshoot existing systems to identify failures or configuration issues and correct them.
  • Terminate wall and ceiling mounted components.
  • Complete Sweep, PIM, and Fiber testing.
  • Complete job-related documentation and record keeping.
  • Communicate and coordinate with customers and the company regarding safety, local code, and installation requirements.

  • Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder, lift, and work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear audible signals.
  • Must be able to travel 50% to 75% within and outside the branch territory.
  • Regular attendance is mandatory.
  • Possess or obtain certifications from manufacturers and be willing to learn new systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a professional manner at all job sites.
  • Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well on a team.
