About the Role

This role plans, develops, implements, and evaluates all private foundation and government fundraising activities, aiming to increase engagement and secure funding. It involves strengthening relationships with funders, overseeing proposal preparation, and supporting campaign fundraising efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the selection, training, and supervision of staff responsible for foundation giving and government grants.
  • Administers, leads, plans, and supervises Foundation Giving and government grants to increase donor engagement and achieve fundraising goals.
  • Provides leadership to the Foundation Giving and grants teams to enhance organizational performance.
  • Mentors and leads the Grants Coordinator and Grants and Contracts Specialists to promote a cohesive and successful team.
  • Supervises the expenditure of granted funds and submission of progress and final reports.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates foundation giving and government grants strategies.
  • Communicates with supervisor regarding the status of plans, goals, and objectives for foundation and government grant activities.
  • Leads a team to implement strategies and holds members accountable for meeting fundraising goals.
  • Develops, prepares, and monitors monthly reports illustrating progress against goals.
  • Creates and maintains an active grants calendar and cultivation/solicitation strategy for foundations.
  • Creates and maintains an active government grants calendar and cultivation/solicitation strategy.
  • Ensures Grants and Contract Specialists work with compliance and finance teams on reporting and invoicing for government grants.
  • Collaborates with other departments and Officers to identify potential budget-relieving funding opportunities.
  • Develops and fosters relationships with foundation funders.
  • Develops and fosters relationships with government entities to identify funding opportunities.
  • Ensures the donor management system is maintained with accurate and complete donor profiles.
  • Develops, establishes, and maintains a listing of foundation donors/prospects.
  • Responds to donor/prospect requests for information accurately, timely, and professionally.
  • Evaluates day-to-day efforts to ensure goals are met or surpassed.
  • Uses internal case statements and gift opportunities to provide information and opportunities to donors.
  • Develops letters, proposals, and reports for foundations.
  • Ensures grant reporting and invoicing is completed on time.
  • Accompanies Advisory Board members, Managing Director, Area Commander, and supervisor in support of visits with foundations.
  • Collaborates with the Community Relations Department team to coordinate communications, stewardship, and solicitation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field, AND Seven years of successful foundation and fundraising experience OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
  • Ability to travel to various locations.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles.
  • Conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Duties are usually performed seated.
  • Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.
