About the Role

We create a fun, interactive and exceptional customer experience for our customers by mixing tea-based drinks, sharing knowledge about our company and blends, and performing standard retail tasks. This role also involves sampling in-store, outside the store, and at events.

Responsibilities

  • Use enthusiasm for Bird & Blend to sell products and achieve store sales targets.
  • Handle till transactions smoothly and accurately.
  • Follow store operating procedures, including delivery, stocktakes, and stock replenishment, while keeping the stockroom and staff area organised.
  • Maintain a healthy, safe, and tidy work environment by following health and safety best practices.
  • Support B&B in reaching impact goals set out in the sustainability and impact strategy.
  • Act with empathy, focus on teamwork, and support the store management team as needed.
  • Become an expert on all Bird & Blend products, drinks, and commitment to sustainability and ethics.
  • Be the friendly face of Bird & Blend, greeting customers warmly with a sample.
  • Prioritise customer happiness by going the extra mile to make every shopping experience memorable.
  • Support with store and local events, including evening work.
  • Engage in sampling activities inside and outside the store, and at external events.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a 1-1 sales environment in retail or hospitality is a plus.
  • Ability to proudly represent the brand and culture, embodying its values.
  • Genuine passion for the product and confidence to share enthusiasm with customers.
  • Strong understanding of customer service with the ability to build rapport and connect with customers confidently.
  • Maintain a professional, fair, and kind relationship with customers and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise empathy to manage interpersonal relationships and contribute to a positive and inclusive experience.
  • Flexibility in availability is essential, with shifts varying weekly and potentially including weekends and evenings.
  • A commitment to excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Confident and comfortable approaching people with a sample inside and outside the store.
