About the Role
The Principal CAD Lead is responsible for leading a team of digital engineers and designers within the Roads & Highways team in NSW. This role involves delivering outstanding technical outcomes for clients and developing a high-performing team. You will influence, implement, and advise clients on designing, delivering, operating, and maintaining infrastructure, taking strategic roles on significant projects and programs, and winning new work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain AEC systems to align with TfNSW standards.
- Input into project documentation including digital engineering strategies and execution plans.
- Drive digital integration within projects and seek opportunities for streamlining.
- Coordinate AEC activities and manage information exchanges in a common data environment.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control checks of models align with the digital execution plan.
- Monitor budgets and resources, including forecast and reporting.
- Participate in Digital related meetings and presentations.
- Engage with the wider DE team for a consistent approach across projects.
- Mentor and support the wider Mott MacDonald team through guidance on AEC implementation.
- Contribute to wider Mott MacDonald and industry presence through Digital working groups or committees.
Requirements
- Seasoned senior digital specialist with proven project delivery experience on significant elements of a major TfNSW project delivery.
- Embody the principles of lean and agile working.
- Extensive years’ experience working in a similar role on large scale projects.
- Strong proficiency in principles of ISO19650 (certification preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong understanding of digital processes and systems, including their optimisation and implementation on major projects.
- Proven experience in a digital delivery role on Transport for NSW projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an adaptable approach to training individuals.
- Proficiency in CDE’s, coordination and modelling tools.
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma or equivalent in Engineering or Architecture.
