About the Role
Neara is creating reality by using advanced machine learning to build engineering-grade, physics-enabled digital twins of electricity grids. We simulate extreme weather and structural stress to help utilities optimize investments and build a more resilient global energy future. The Design product group builds the modeling and design tools that utilities rely on, translating real-world physics and design logic into the product. We are seeking a Director of Product to lead this team, owning its strategy, roadmap, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Own team success end to end and ensure big programs are completed.
- Define investment areas, prioritize user problems, and expand product into adjacent markets.
- Set product vision, roadmap, and prioritization, ensuring high-quality, complete outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and SMEs, with direct reports.
- Build sustainable processes to improve information surfacing and delivery outcomes.
- Bridge SMEs, developers, and the business, bringing clarity to a complex domain.
- Engage deeply with the domain and platform, understanding utility and designer problems.
- Partner across the product and engineering organization, connecting the area to the broader roadmap.
Requirements
- Experienced product leader who has owned the success of a large and complex product area.
- Comfortable operating across product management, engineering, and design.
- Proven, hands-on success in a technical area where you were not initially an expert.
- Strong people leader with proven experience directly leading product management and ideally engineering teams.
- Ability to build context quickly and challenge respectfully.
- Comfortable going deep into the substance of the team's work.
- Ruthless on scope and prioritization, calm under pressure, and able to bring clarity to chaos.
