About the Role
As a Pastoral Care Worker, you will bring authentic Christian pastoral care directly into the homes of older people living across Sydney's Northern Beaches. Through regular home visits, you'll build meaningful relationships with seniors and their families, offering encouragement, spiritual support and compassionate care that helps people remain connected to their faith, community and sense of purpose while continuing to live independently.
Responsibilities
- Visit seniors in their own homes across the Northern Beaches, providing compassionate Christian pastoral care and spiritual support.
- Build trusted relationships that reduce isolation and foster hope, connection and wellbeing.
- Support residents and families through prayer, Bible reading, pastoral conversations and faith-based encouragement where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Chaplains, care teams and community partners to ensure holistic support for every client.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to high-quality pastoral services across the Seniors Living program.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Christian ministry or pastoral care (essential).
- Relevant Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Pastoral Care, or a commitment to undertake theological studies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing a community-based caseload.
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout the Northern Beaches.
- Theological studies or ministry training.
- Experience supporting older people in community or aged care settings.
- Experience providing pastoral support in home or community environments.
- Strong understanding of holistic, person-centred pastoral care.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Actively support Anglicare's Christian mission, vision and values through both your faith and your actions.
