About the Role
MG2, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a dynamic Architectural Project Manager – Data Centers to join our Client Programs Market team in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you’ll have the rare opportunity to work on global and national building programs that are shaping the future of data center design. As part of our Client Programs (CP) Market, you’ll take the lead in guiding projects through every stage of execution—driving innovation, delivering results, and making a lasting impact for our clients. As a Project Manager, you’ll be at the helm of project teams, overseeing everything from contracts and design to documentation, permitting, and construction administration. You’ll manage project schedules and financial performance with precision, while cultivating strong client relationships and ensuring MG2’s standard of design excellence is upheld at every step. Serving as the primary point of contact, you’ll bring clarity, leadership, and confidence to both clients and project teams alike. Responsibilities
- Manage project teams through all project phases, ensuring project deliverables align with the contract, are completed per schedule and budget, and meet MG2 quality standards.
- Ensure required contracts are in place before executing contract deliverables.
- Create and maintain accurate milestone-based project schedules and staffing workplans.
- Create and maintain detailed Project Charters including a comprehensive QA/QC plan.
- Assist with the development of project proposals and RFP responses.
- Continuously monitor project financial status and complete financial reviews.
- Review monthly project invoicing and consultant billing.
- Produce and issue weekly project updates to all stakeholders, including contract deliverables, financial updates, contracts, and permitting reports.
- Lead or direct all internal and external project team meetings.
- Actively participate in Quality Control procedures, including review of all externally distributed project deliverables.
- Oversee all team activities during Construction Administration, including weekly reviews of RFI and Submittal logs, attendance at project OAC meetings, and detailed review of site visit reports and punch lists.
- Host internal and external project debrief meetings post-construction to identify service improvement opportunities.
- Initiate project-close out procedures following substantial completion, aligning with contractual obligations.
- Manage internal and external resources to ensure consistent quality and project profitability.
- Continuously manage team member performance and provide feedback.
- Perform monthly 1:1 check-ins with all internal team members (People Managers Only).
- Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews (People Managers Only).
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture or design firm.
- Demonstrated professional expertise with Data Centers is required.
- Certification as a license professional preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams through all phases of milestone-based project delivery.
- Basic knowledge of architectural contracts and contract execution procedures.
- Proficiency with Revit, Auto-CAD, and MS Office.
- Demonstrated expertise utilizing collaboration software such as Bluebeam, Miro, and Teams.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for job-related communications and instructions.
