About the Role

Responsibilities

Manage a team of engineers (3 or more)
Conduct 1-on-1 meetings, set goals, evaluate performance, and provide feedback
Support team members’ growth and career development
Participate in recruitment activities (interviews, onboarding)
Plan and manage development projects
Optimize scope, schedule, and resources
Identify technical challenges and develop solutions
Communicate with stakeholders
Align business objectives with technology initiatives
Design and improve development processes and structures
Participate in decision-making regarding technology selection and architecture
Promote cross-team technology sharing and knowledge management
Collaborate with Business, Product, and R&D Teams
Understand the business direction and make proposals and implement solutions from an engineering perspective

Requirements

Experience managing a team of three or more engineers (people management skills required)
Project management experience
In-depth understanding and experience in web application development (approximately 5 years or more)
Business-level English proficiency (sufficient for internal team communication)
Business-level Japanese proficiency (equivalent to N2 or higher)
Someone committed to balancing business growth with the development of our technical organization
Someone capable of prioritizing what is essential for the company’s scaling and making decisions accordingly
Someone passionate about supporting engineers’ growth and improving the team’s overall performance
Someone able to collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds
Someone with a deep understanding of our business and products who can provide technical leadership
Someone with strong communication skills who can facilitate smooth collaboration with other departments
Someone interested in Mantra’s business areas (manga, language, and machine learning)
Someone with a mindset to take on any challenge
Someone with a mindset to continuously learn from everything
Someone who can proactively collaborate with people of different values and backgrounds
