About the Role
The Data Operations Analyst builds, maintains, and enhances the enterprise reporting ecosystem. This role partners with stakeholders across Customer Experience, Support, Revenue Operations, and Finance to transform business questions into reliable data models, dashboards, and actionable insights while contributing to automation and AI-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and DAX measures.
- Build and support the SQL-based data warehouse layer, including views, stored procedures, and dimensional data models.
- Develop and maintain reporting solutions aligned with layered data architecture.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business objectives.
- Translate business needs into reporting solutions and data-driven recommendations.
- Advise stakeholders on data definitions, reporting capabilities, and best practices.
- Monitor and maintain data quality to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
- Manage scheduled dataset refreshes and troubleshoot refresh failures.
- Investigate reporting issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions.
- Automate recurring reporting processes including business reviews, forecasts, and operational metrics.
- Contribute to the development of automation and AI-enabled data operations workflows.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to improve reporting processes and documentation.
- Track work and deliverables through Jira.
- Utilize Git and version control best practices for data assets.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Support the modernization of legacy reporting processes.
- Assume ownership of reporting domains as expertise grows.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
- Strong curiosity about business performance and metrics.
- Working proficiency in SQL including joins, aggregations, and subqueries.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations using a BI platform, preferably Power BI.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts including fact and dimension structures.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working within a ticket-based project management environment like Jira.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI semantic models, DAX, gateways, and row-level security.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Familiarity with workflow automation platforms like Power Automate.
- Exposure to SaaS or subscription-based business metrics.
- Experience supporting cross-functional business teams.
- Interest in AI-assisted analytics and automation.
- Experience modernizing or documenting legacy reporting processes.
