About the Role
Lead a cross-border money transfer ecosystem by assessing business needs and providing creative solutions. Design, implement, and maintain complex, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with business and product teams to establish requirements of cross-border money transfer eco system.
- Assess business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards.
- Design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed software systems throughout all phases of the software development process.
- Apply Agile Methodology daily and follow Definition of Done (DOD) process for better quality by maintaining 80% of unit test coverage and 70% integration overage.
- Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and roll out applications with cross-functional impacts.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code adhering to established coding standards and best practices.
- Actively participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to design principles and quality guidelines.
- Apply secure coding principles and practices throughout the development lifecycle to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of software design patterns and principles to create efficient and resilient solutions.
- Proactively identify and address technical debt to maintain a healthy codebase & systems.
- Interface and collaborate with project management, engineering leadership, release management, and the teams across geographically distributed development centers to deliver quality product features within a given schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Application, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation/job title/position implementing backend solutions.
- Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Application, Electronic Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or any occupation/job title/position implementing backend solutions.
- 5 years of professional experience utilizing computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D).
- 5 years of professional experience utilizing Modern Programming Languages (including Java or Python) and design patterns.
- 5 years of professional experience utilizing HTTP, XML, and JSON.
- 4 years of professional experience utilizing Agile Development Methodologies with Test Driven Development (TDD) and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery).
- 3 years of professional experience assessing business needs while providing creative and effective solutions in conformance to emerging technology standards.
- 3 years of professional experience utilizing unit testing and mocking frameworks to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- 3 years of professional experience utilizing AWS Cloud Services including EC2, S3, EKS, and API Gateway.
- 3 years of professional experience utilizing Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, Kafka, SOAP & RESTful web services.
- 3 years of professional experience developing data-ingesting applications using an industry standard Relational and NoSQL database including Oracle and Redis Cache.
