About the Role

As an associate, you’ll learn everything about chocolate from its origin to production. You will become an expert in tasting and describing our drinks, treats, and bars, understanding how cocoa origin impacts flavor. You will also be trained on coffee preparation with Ritual Coffee Roasters. This role involves managing café operations, ensuring excellent guest experiences during busy periods, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

Create hot chocolate drinks and espresso drinks with a manual machine and brew coffee with consistent excellence.
Answer questions about allergen information, chocolate, pastries, and drinks.
Make recommendations for pairing chocolate with espresso drinks.
Provide guests with an amazing drink and pastry experience.
Be timely and dress professionally.
Develop long-standing relationships with visitors.
Identify ways to improve operating procedures, checklists, and documentation.
Be a positive, team-oriented player.
Perform other tasks as necessary.

Requirements

Weekend and evening availability is required.
Develop a quick rapport with customers by detailing the chocolate making process.
Proven ability to work well within a team environment.
1-2 years of retail or customer-facing work experience in a fast-paced environment.
Experience making espresso drinks is a huge plus.
Fluent spoken English is required.
Additional language skills are a plus.

About the Company

Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory in San Francisco’s Mission District.
We make chocolate from only two ingredients, cocoa beans and cane sugar.
We travel to origins as often as we can to build good, trusting relationships with the producers who grow and ferment cacao beans.
