About the Role
The Director, Strategy & Business Development is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic growth opportunities to expand A+E Networks' international FAST distribution footprint and accelerate revenue across emerging digital content licensing opportunities. This role partners closely with Global Content Sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to develop business strategies, evaluate new market opportunities, structure commercial partnerships, and deliver executive-level insights.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute business development initiatives across international FAST channel platforms, strategic distribution partnerships, and emerging digital media platforms to drive revenue, growth and expand market presence.
- Manage relationships with our international FAST partners.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new market opportunities, partnership structures, and commercial business models aligned with the company's strategic priorities and long-term growth objectives.
- Lead complex strategic analyses, financial evaluations, and executive-level presentations to support corporate growth initiatives and key business decisions.
- Analyze business performance, market trends, competitive dynamics, and partner metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth, operational improvements, and strategic optimization.
- Coordinate executive-level communications and cross-functional initiatives across the Global Content Sales organization to ensure strategic alignment and successful execution.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of progressive experience in FAST and managing FAST relationships and business development.
- At least 3 years of demonstrated success structuring, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships, licensing agreements, and/or distribution deals.
- At least 7 years of experience in Media or adjacent industries.
- Strong skills of financial modeling, forecasting, business analysis, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
- At least 1 year of experience developing executive-level presentations, strategic recommendations, and business cases for senior leadership.
- 10+ years of experience in strategy, business development, corporate development, content distribution, or sales within the entertainment, media, streaming, or digital content industries.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with AVOD, SVOD, FAST, connected TV (CTV), digital distribution, and streaming platform ecosystems.
- Knowledge of content licensing, media rights, digital monetization, and international media markets.
- Experience evaluating emerging content platforms and evolving digital business models.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Legal, Finance, Commercial, Product, Operations, and Content teams.
- All Candidates, regardless of location, should expect to work roughly east coast hours.
