About the Role

As a Senior Financial Analyst in the Corporate Planning Group, you will provide critical insights that shape the direction of Canadian Tire Corporation by supporting enterprise financial consolidation and executive performance reporting. This role focuses on collecting and consolidating inputs, maintaining complex models, and integrating outputs in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and PPT.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly and quarterly performance reports to Senior Management and the Board, delivering key variance analyses and insights.
  • Consolidate financial data across FP&A teams, ensuring forecasts are aligned with performance outcomes and strategic objectives.
  • Perform rigorous data validation and reconciliations to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
  • Support a long-term project to improve the availability and effectiveness of monthly consolidated forecast data in the financial system.
  • Handle ad hoc analytical requests to help leadership evaluate complex scenarios, assess trade-offs, and make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with FP&A, Treasury, HR, Corporate Accounting, Investor Relations, and other partners to gather insights and provide in-depth analysis.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance models, reporting, and processes by leveraging Excel, Power BI, AI, and automation tools.

Requirements

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CFA), either obtained or currently pursuing one
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in finance roles
  • Solid understanding of the financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statements)
  • Strong accounting and financial modelling skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and automations
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data in a clear, compelling way that influences strategic decision-making
  • Experience with storytelling and “connecting the dots” to stakeholders including executives is an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and a keen eye for formatting
  • Strong ability to transform complex data into visually appealing and easily understandable reports
  • Creative and courageous, with the ability to see the “big picture” and problem solve in an environment of change and ambiguity
  • Action oriented and organized, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Outcome focused, critical thinkers with the ability to analyze and visualize, to ensure continuous process improvement
  • Independent self-starter who is able to accurately prioritize key tasks to achieve desired outcome within the required deadline and proactive raise any potential barriers to completion
  • Collaborative team player who builds relationships easily across various stakeholder groups to move initiatives forward

  • Hiring range: $80,000 – $95,000 CAD
