About the Role
The Product Manager is a visionary, strategist, analyst, customer evangelist, respected leader of execution, and professional relationship builder. This role is accountable for T-Mobile's internal and external products, platforms, services, and experiences, identifying the intersection of customer problems, technical feasibility, and business goals to deliver successful products.
Responsibilities
- Owns product end to end for products or features with moderate complexity.
- Creates, manages, maintains, and communicates product vision and strategy.
- Identifies target customers and drives end-user product research.
- Partners with stakeholders to understand customer experiences and identify opportunities.
- Conducts quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify product innovation opportunities.
- Leverages hypothesis-driven testing and experiments to inform direction and prioritize investment.
- Conducts cost-benefit/ROI/NPV analysis and competitive product analysis.
- Secures and maintains product funding through enterprise processes.
- Communicates and influences ideas at Director level and below.
- Recommends product feature set and positioning strategies.
- Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of tech trends and their impact on the roadmap.
- Uses customer insights for product vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities.
- Meets with customers to build empathy and understand their needs.
- Creates and manages an active Voice of Customer (VOC) feed.
- Looks for opportunities to delight customers or meet unmet needs.
- Evangelizes and advocates for the customer internally and externally.
- Creates an environment and culture where the team is immersed in a customer-first perspective.
- Tests ideas with customers to ensure desired benefits are delivered.
- Translates product/platform strategy into detailed features and user stories for development teams.
- Owns and manages the product backlog and priorities with business and technology partners.
- Collaborates with Architecture and Dev teams to factor technical debt and long-term investment into the roadmap.
- Ensures existing production defects are factored into backlog prioritization.
- Collaborates with stakeholders and Dev/Execution teams to create and communicate release schedules.
- Generates and maintains dashboards and reports tracking product health and success metrics.
- Conducts Product Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Steering meetings.
- Runs beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
- Collaborates with advertising and public relations to promote the product.
- Supports sales, marketing, and other stakeholder teams with product knowledge and documentation.
- Assists with the overall execution of the software development process.
- Communicates technical challenges to stakeholders and makes trade-off decisions.
- Accountable for product quality and performance in the production environment.
- Leads development of adoption tools and training materials.
- Identifies and drives improvement plans for issues impeding product success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience.
- 4-7 years Relevant Product Management experience in an agile software product development environment.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
