About the Role

Primoris Services Corporation, through its division Q3 Contracting, is seeking a Design Trainer to develop and deliver training programs for design technicians and new hires. This role focuses on enhancing the skills of the design team and ensuring adherence to industry standards and company procedures. The position is based in Dove Valley, Colorado, and requires up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary trainer and mentor for Design Technicians and new hires, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Develop, deliver, and improve training materials for utility design, customer service, company procedures, and industry standards.
  • Train the design team to interpret construction drawings to determine job scopes.
  • Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on training sessions.
  • Evaluate trainee performance through assessments, field observations, quality reviews, and coaching.
  • Partner with leadership, subject matter experts, and customers to identify training needs and address knowledge gaps.
  • Promote consistency in design best practices, processes, and compliance.
  • Monitor and incorporate updates to utility standards, software, workflows, and procedures into training.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, best practices, and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Support employees in the use of design tools, GIS, SAP, and other technology platforms.
  • Track training completion, maintain records, and report on employee progress and competency.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages engagement and professional growth.
  • Travel to field locations, branch offices, customer sites, or training events as needed.
  • Aid in performing driver test evaluations for new hires.
  • Communicate with trainees, supervisors, customers, vendors, and stakeholders to meet training objectives and business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of GIS or similar mapping software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with all customers.
  • Must possess and maintain an appropriate and valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills with high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities effectively and efficiently.
  • Comfortable and effective working in an environment with changing demands, delays and responding to unexpected situations.
  • Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
