About the Role

The Texas Civil Rights Project (TCRP) sponsors multiple legal fellows annually to advance its mission of equality and justice. This fellowship offers an opportunity to work on critical issues such as Voting Rights and Democracy, or Immigrant Rights and Border Justice.

Responsibilities

• Develop project proposals in partnership with TCRP.
• Advance TCRP's mission of seeking justice for Texas communities.
• Work closely with applicants to develop strong funding proposals.
• Manage and train fellows.
• Conduct litigation and legal advocacy.
• Work with coalitions of community-based organizations.
• Identify injustices facing Texas communities and develop systemic solutions.

Requirements

• Graduation from an ABA-accredited law school by the time the fellowship would begin.
• Completion of the bar exam of any U.S state or territory prior to beginning the fellowship.
• Willingness to work in Texas in a city identified in the application.
• Development of a project proposal that fits a priority subject-matter area in which TCRP works.
• Strong public interest commitment.
• Demonstrated connection to and history of partnering with underserved communities (for Equal Justice Works fellowship).
