About the Role

AAI is seeking Bus Marshals to support a contract with Metrolinx. Marshals will guide bus operators in blind spots and tight spaces, direct pedestrians for safety, and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Use standardized bus marshaling signals to coordinate and direct the safe movement of GO buses.
  • Ensure buses back out safely across pedestrian sidewalks and into public streets.
  • Comply with all safety and security requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Lead by example and uphold the reputation of AAI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Minimum OSSD (high school diploma) or equivalent.
  • Available to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrated situational awareness and security compliance.
  • Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
  • Ability to work safely and engage in a culture of safety and customer service.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours and adjust to varying work pace.
  • Ability to start work on time and maintain good attendance.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Ability to wear appropriate uniform and PPE.
  • Demonstrated good judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear background check (no criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted).
  • Three references for applicant’s good character (non-related).
  • Completion of Human Rights, 101, Health and Safety 4 Steps for Workers, AODA and WHMIS modules prior to the first day of work.
