About the Role
The Sales Manager for Corporate, SMERF, and Associations is responsible for proactively generating new business, growing market share, and driving revenue for the hotel. This role involves prospecting, developing strategic relationships, and negotiating contracts within specific market segments to achieve revenue objectives.
Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit and secure new Corporate, SMERF, and Association business through direct sales, networking, and industry engagement.
- Respond promptly to inbound opportunities via Cvent, Delphi, and other channels.
- Manage sales pipeline and contracts using Salesforce and Delphi tools.
- Conduct outside sales calls, client meetings, networking events, trade shows, and site inspections.
- Achieve or exceed individual pace and production goals.
- Develop and execute market-specific sales plans to increase hotel visibility and revenue.
- Collaborate with operations and catering teams to ensure flawless event execution.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and recommend pricing or service enhancements.
- Build relationships with Corporate Travel Managers, Meeting Planners, and industry stakeholders.
- Track weekly sales activities and production status.
- Coordinate hotel presentations and familiarization tours.
- Negotiate and execute profitable contracts.
- Travel as needed for client meetings and presentations.
- Follow all hotel safety policies and participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hotel sales management experience, preferably in the group segment at upscale hotels.
- Proven track record of proactive prospecting and new business generation.
- Valid provincial driver’s license.
- Alcohol awareness certification as required by provincial regulations.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to travel regularly and operate a personal vehicle.
- Proficiency in Delphi sales software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce.
