About the Role

Monumental is seeking a Construction Robot Operator to introduce robots and automation to the UK construction industry, contributing to the creation of affordable, beautiful, high-quality housing. This role is ideal for individuals who prefer hands-on work over desk jobs and possess technical intuition, practicality, and a bias for action. You will be the primary interface on-site, operating robots, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with R&D and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Prepping construction projects, understanding build requirements and site conditions.
Preparing sites by placing markers and capturing images for 3D reconstruction.
Operating construction robots using in-house software on a laptop.
Documenting system performance for R&D team improvements.
Troubleshooting complex issues with remote engineering, ops, and manufacturing teams.
Performing site tasks such as setting wall ties, cutting and loading bricks, and pointing walls.
Serving as the company representative on construction sites.
Building test walls, learning robot maintenance, and preparing for deployments at the UK Hub.

Requirements

A technical and analytical mindset; ability to differentiate hardware and software failures and debug problems.
Willingness to engage in hands-on work and early starts for site visits.
Outcome and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
Previous construction site experience is a strong plus.
Possession of a driver's license and comfort driving a van.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Must be based in the United Kingdom.
Must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
Must be able to commute onsite to London.
