About the Role
The Hereditary Cancer Liaison will work in the field to promote the benefits of RiskGuard (Exact Sciences hereditary cancer test) and the broader precision oncology portfolio. This role is responsible for growing business with existing accounts and developing new ones, while coordinating with Regional Oncology Liaisons and Specialists on inherited cancer testing opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed sales objectives in an assigned geographic area through regular field-based customer interactions.
- Elevate territory management, planning, and implementation.
- Develop and implement strategic tactical plans to maximize product utilization within budget.
- Plan and prioritize sales activities and client contacts to achieve business goals.
- Analyze client needs and create engaging sales tools.
- Build and maintain relationships with present clients and rapport with potential clients.
- Generate revenue by developing market potential through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales.
- Recommend new products, services, applications, and sales strategies.
- Expand sales in new and existing accounts by introducing new services and developing new applications.
- Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, and merchandising.
- Update and track client information and correspondence in Veeva CRM.
- Maintain current industry and sales knowledge and act upon market dynamics to address client needs.
- Participate in company-sponsored trade shows, conferences, and meetings as needed.
- Provide input to Clinical Laboratory staff and management regarding test development, client services, operations, and marketing.
- Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
- Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work designated schedule.
- Work on a mobile device, tablet, or computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 95% of a typical working day.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of hereditary cancer genetics experience with a strong record of success selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology, genetic counselors, and/or diagnostics or similar experience.
- 1+ years promoting healthcare products partnering with commercial sales teams.
- Existing relationships with Genetic Counselors and providers who focus on hereditary cancer testing.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated effective prospecting skills.
- Demonstrated effective negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated professional presentation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of genetic testing or clinical genetics.
- Demonstrated proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Software.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with specific driving record requirements.
- No alcohol or drug event in which a vehicle was driven in the last 36 months.
- No other MVR results that expose Exact Sciences to unacceptable liability.
- Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodation.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- $151,000.00 - $225,000.00
