About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting, you will work cross functionally with Finance Department team members to assist in the preparation of certain accounting entries, including lease accounting, and the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, Management’s Discussion and Analysis (“MD&A”) and securities filings in Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual external Financial Statements, MD&A and securities filings in Canada and the United States.
  • Uploading internal Financial Statements and supporting schedules into the Workiva Wdesk financial reporting platform
  • Prepare note disclosures and certain supporting schedules
  • Support the preparation of the MD&A
  • Review XBRL tagging of Annual Financial Statements in Workiva Wdesk platform
  • Assist in quarterly reviews and annual year-end audit of financial statements
  • Responsible for lease accounting and analysis, providing support for Canada Goose’s global lease portfolio
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements and certain accounting entries and account reconciliations, including lease accounting, Fixed Assets, Long-term debt, and Derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Execute internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare financial and technical analysis for IFRS accounting policy position papers, as requested
  • Contribute to team effort by completing financial reporting tasks as needed

Requirements

  • University degree in Business/Accounting
  • 4+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience in financial analysis or data analytics
  • Experience in the Consumer Products industry, retail or manufacturing a definite asset
  • Experience working in publicly traded companies listed in Canada and the United States, or experience working in private companies with regimented reporting requirements
  • Working within an internal control reporting framework preferred, preferably COSO
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS, including IFRS 16 is preferred

  • CPA designation is in progress, completed is an asset
