About the Role
The People Practices (PP) Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, coaches, and team leaders. This role partners with organizational leadership, focusing on executing people strategies including employee value proposition, employee relations, workforce strategy, leadership and team effectiveness, change management, and employee experiences, with an emphasis on inclusion and belonging. The role is responsible for the entire workforce, both admin and craft, within the assigned organizational unit.
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive employee engagement experiences, organization effectiveness initiatives, advanced compensation, workforce strategy/planning, and change management efforts.
- Assist in the execution and updating of the organization’s strategy for culture and engagement.
- Execute succession planning, career development, and performance management.
- Partner with Leaders to ensure great employee experiences, focusing on fairness and inclusion, and proactively address DEI gaps.
- Implement teaming strategies to promote healthy teams and upskill People Practices Advisors.
- Consult and provide guidance on employee relations with Coaches/Managers.
- Serve as a bridge between Centers of Excellence, People Operations, and Strategic Initiatives teams.
- Coach and develop local People Practices Advisor(s).
- Utilize People Practices metrics for data-driven decision making and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate inclusive talent management initiatives for attraction, mentorship, retention, and advancement of admin and craft employees.
- Serve as an advocate for People Practices programs, organizational values, and culture.
- Collaborate with Centers of Excellence and People Operations to develop and influence the people strategy.
- Coordinate with staffing leads and promote inclusive hiring practices.
- Act as the primary organizational advocate for Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and other employee groups/events.
- Travel to jobsites within the business unit or entity, with occasional overnight travel for national team summits or peer group meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation, employee and union relations, performance management, regulatory environments, talent acquisition, and talent development.
- 7–10+ years of related experience, or equivalent training.
- Construction industry experience is a plus.
- Experience with consulting, organizational design, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, change management, and analytics preferred.
- Human resources or talent management certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-S/CP, Organizational Effectiveness, Talent Management, DEI, HRBP).

- Weekly travel to project location in Temple, TX required
- Candidate can be based in any location that DPR Construction has a local office
