About the Role

The Senior Lead of Commercial Planning & Compensation translates Lantern's growth ambitions into the operating plan for the Commercial organization. This role owns the full planning and compensation cycle, including OKRs, coverage and capacity models, compensation plans, quotas, and functional plans. The position ensures Commercial team members understand their objectives, the rationale behind targets, and their compensation structure. It involves close collaboration with Commercial Leadership and Finance to build and defend analytical models supporting growth strategy. The role also includes developing Board materials, maintaining long-term planning models, and ensuring accuracy in reporting and commission payouts. This position directly influences how a fast-growing company allocates resources, reports progress, and delivers care.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual Commercial planning cycle end to end, including long-term growth ambitions, OKRs, Commercial design, and compensation planning across all Commercial roles in partnership with Field Operations and Finance.
  • Design and administer incentive compensation plans for Sales, Client Success, and Partnerships, ensuring commission policies and procedures are documented and maintained.
  • Manage one direct report, a Commissions Analyst, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all commission payouts.
  • Build, maintain, and improve long-term planning models from scratch with clean logic, accurate numbers, and clear documentation.
  • Develop Board and executive materials on Commercial strategy and performance, including quarterly reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Build relationships at national and local market levels to influence and educate, driving business referrals.
  • Develop content in partnership with marketing and sales enablement teams, tailored for consultants.
  • Educate the marketplace on the category (surgery COEs and cancer support) and how to evaluate solutions.
  • Grow the business by increasing proposal opportunities and improving win rates with consulting firms.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within and outside the consulting relations mandate and address them.
  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships with sales, account management, marketing, network, and member services for a unified approach.

Requirements

  • Investment banking or management consulting background.
  • Deep analytical skills in Microsoft Excel with high attention to detail.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to articulate long-term value creation.
  • Ability to unpack business drivers at the second, third, and fourth order.
  • Supreme organization and persistence to follow up and proactively communicate progress.
  • Gritty, hard-working, and able to operate in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills for ambiguous problems.
