About the Role

As an Assistant Procurement Manager – Marketing, you will support procurement and supplier management for Marketing categories including Creative & Production, Media, PR, Influencer Agencies, Events, Content Creation, Brand Partnerships, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Technology. You will work closely with the Procurement Manager and Marketing stakeholders on sourcing projects, supplier performance, commercial negotiations, and governance, aiming to deliver value and cost optimization. This role reports into the Global Head of Indirect Procurement and requires indirect procurement experience, ideally within a digitally mature industry or online retail, with a global support remit. Project management of ad-hoc support projects will be a key activity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform spend mapping analysis of all indirect spend, providing the Marketing Procurement Manager with analysis and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports, including supplier performance, cost analysis, and contract status.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Negotiate marketing contracts and commercials, securing favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements with suppliers.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers of indirect goods and services to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Oversee the administration of marketing procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Work on sourcing activities as required by the marketing category lead.
  • Provide full tender support to the marketing procurement manager, including RFI/RFP, collation of responses, and scorecarding with analysis.
  • Organize QBR supplier reviews across key suppliers, including annual meeting plans, and track improvement actions and KPI management.
  • Manage rebate tracking and liaise with the finance team for accurate accruals and audit information.
  • Take ownership of cost initiative projects as directed by the marketing procurement manager for personal development and to meet annual savings targets.
  • Occasionally work on projects in other Indirect categories.

Requirements

  • Capability to quickly learn and disseminate new information and communicate it effectively.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with high attention to detail, managing multiple projects without errors.
  • Ability to commit to and deliver against deadlines with multiple competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tenders/RFP processes.
  • Keenness to develop negotiation skills and build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to take responsibility for time management, prioritize work, and deliver with minimal direct support.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous procurement/purchasing experience within a digitally mature industry or cosmetic/personal care online retailer.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Strong operational stakeholder relationship development and management skills.
  • Experience in digital/SaaS buying support.
  • Strong data analysis skills and Excel expertise, including Vlookups, nested 'if' statements, and pivot tables.
  • Comfort working with ambiguous and/or incomplete information.
  • Experience using 'source to contract' e-sourcing tools.
  • Some experience in formal contract development is advantageous.
  • Experience using Monday project management system is a plus.
  • Performance management service sourcing background is a distinct advantage.
  • Implementation support for e-sourcing tools is a distinct advantage.
  • Previous experience in marketing procurement is an advantage.
