About the Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary full-time Payroll & Human Resources Representative for the Talent Programs team. This team manages recruitment, talent development, and employee engagement. The role involves providing guidance on HR policies, programs, benefits, pension, and pay, while maintaining HRIS data integrity and partnering with Talent Management on program implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, HR programs, benefits, pension and pay related provisions of multiple collective agreements and the terms & conditions of employment.
  • Maintain information in relation to employee life cycle events within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data integrity and adherence to best practices.
  • Partner with Talent Management and peers to ensure implementation of new or changing programs/provisions.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on program/provision application and eligibility.
  • Act as the first point of contact for general inquiries on Human Resources policies, programs, procedures, pay and quota related provisions of collective agreements and terms of conditions.
  • Support the People, Culture & Performance team in Labour and Employee Relations.
  • Apply procedural rules and processes for employee changes including new hires, internal movements, leaves of absence, return to work, layoff and recall, termination, and retirement.
  • Manage pay related changes in accordance with collective agreement provisions and non-unionized compensation guidelines.
  • Administer pension and benefit programs in accordance with plan and legislated criteria.
  • Maintain databases, gather information and generate reports as prescribed by collective agreements.
  • Support and guide management on Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Completion of a post-secondary level education in Human Resources, Payroll, Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in Human Resources, Payroll and supporting an HRIS system, preferably SAP.
  • Previous experience providing employee support for pay related inquiries and benefits/pension administration.
  • Previous experience working within a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple collective agreement provisions relating to pay and employee entitlements.
  • Experience in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Up-to-date resume.
