About the Role

Sizewell C is seeking a Procurement Manager with governance and assurance experience to oversee procurement activities for large-scale construction and engineering contracts. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders, project teams, technical specialists, and the supply chain to implement robust procurement, governance, and assurance practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as a commercial point of contact for procurement of professional services, and governance and assurance.
• Ensure the implementation of procurement governance and assurance across Civils Works Programme procurement activities.
• Lead end-to-end tendering activity.
• Shape commercial strategy.
• Manage supplier negotiations.
• Manage papers through governance and assurance processes.
• Support a multi-discipline project team to ensure 'best for project' outcomes.
• Promote good commercial practice, fairness in the supply chain, and project safety and quality standards.
• Develop and support procurement and contracting strategies.
• Prepare tender documentation and evaluate proposals.
• Coordinate technical, legal, commercial, and programme inputs.
• Ensure internal governance approvals are achieved on time for contract award.

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of best practice procurement policy and procedure.
• Demonstrable track record of developing or working within procurement governance and assurance structures with supporting policy and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to draft well-written governance papers and present/explain them clearly and engagingly to stakeholders.
• Proven track record of operational effectiveness in a sophisticated matrix structure coupled with project management expertise.
• Ability to drive for and exceed required goals.
• Significant hands-on end-to-end procurement experience gained on large construction project procurements.
• Proven track record of procurement in the set-up and mobilisation stage and/or delivery stage of major construction projects/Programmes.
• Experience of the NEC contract form and pricing models.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Clear understanding of contract governance, risk management and commercial assurance.
• Experience working in a regulated or high-integrity environment.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills along with the confidence to interface with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Must be a self-starter with excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Confident working within a major infrastructure or engineering programme.
• Comfortable handling high-value and technically complex transactions.
• Must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which ordinarily requires UK residency for at least three of the past five years.
• Right to work in the UK.

About the Company

• Sizewell C’s business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk.
• The Company is maturing to meet all requirements for the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards.
• Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway.
