About the Role

Guidewire is seeking a Software Engineer to build elegant solutions for the property & casualty insurance industry's complex business domain. You will use AI-native coding approaches and AI-assisted tools to build, refactor, and extend services quickly and safely, supporting the mission to embed GenAI across products, improve operational excellence, and deliver secure, reliable, and scalable cloud services. Requirements

Minimum 0 - 2+ years of Software Development experience, preferably in SaaS or cloud solutions.
Proficiency in Core Java, and good working knowledge of the Spring framework.
Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
Experience building microservices on cloud service platforms (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure) – AWS preferred.
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes).
Experience designing REST or gRPC based APIs.
Ability to use AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate development while exercising strong judgment around code quality, testing, and security.
Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles.
Understanding of relational database persistence (e.g. MySQL, Oracle); familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, CouchDB) is a plus.
Great understanding of CI/CD and DevOps principles; experience with related tools such as TeamCity, Git-based workflows, or Kubernetes is a definite plus.
Experience with LLMs, LangChain, and/or AI patterns such as RAG or ReAct is a plus.
Exposure to AI/ML development patterns such as prompt engineering or integrating AI services into production systems is a plus.
BS/MS degree (Computer Science or related field).
