About the Role

The role offers the opportunity to work on complex structures in fast-growing market segments such as power, midstream, refining, and digital infrastructure, while contributing to S&P Global Ratings’ high-profile coverage of the global infrastructure sector. Analysts will use their corporate credit and project finance skills to facilitate and support capital formation for this critical sector.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and coaching to Research Assistants and Rating Analysts, building capability in credit, data discipline, and tooling.
  • Drive consistency and scalability by codifying standard work and promoting disciplined adoption.
  • Strengthen AI-enabled productivity by creating reusable assets and proposing lightweight automations.
  • Foster continuous improvement by proposing enhancements that remove manual steps.
  • Partner with senior team members and Data/Engineering to identify and scale AI/automation use cases.
  • Lead end-to-end execution for assigned credits, ensuring high-quality analysis and timely delivery.
  • Own surveillance and updates for assigned portfolio, synthesizing performance, market signals, and peer context.
  • Support LLM tools/automation being embedded to accelerate workflows, followed by structured validation and refinement.
  • Operate alongside AI agents in recurring workflows.
  • Prepare and review inputs, reconcile metrics, and document assumptions/changes.
  • Prepare and review key outputs ensuring clarity and alignment to methodology/sector frameworks.
  • Support maintenance and review of models to ensure robustness and repeatability.
  • Engage with external parties alongside senior team members.
  • Craft client and executive-ready stories that translate complex data, analysis, and research into a clear narrative.
  • Advise on issues within clear parameters, integrating and communicating complex information.
  • Build trusted stakeholder relationships through emotionally intelligent, collaborative, and adaptable delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to methodology, confidentiality, and data governance; escalate issues early.
  • Embed responsible, governed AI use, utilizing only approved tools/data and protecting confidential information.
  • Drive controlled automation/agentic workflows by contributing to design requirements/controls, supporting testing/rollout, and training others.
  • Support decisions relating to guardrails for automation, defining what can be automated versus what must remain human-led.

Requirements

  • Developing and articulating credit views and managing a portfolio of credits.
  • Preparing committee-ready materials and actively participating in rating committees.
  • Demonstrating service excellence and professionalism.
  • Preparing for and participating in management meetings, due diligence calls, and surveillance discussions.
  • Drafting and driving publication of high-quality rating reports.
  • Contributing to sector expertise and supporting thought leadership.
  • Staying current on market developments affecting North American infrastructure.
  • Supporting senior analysts in external analytical engagements.
  • Ownership and execution maturity across multiple credits; delivering high quality with limited oversight.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management; influencing through credibility and constructive challenge.
  • Coaching capability that improves team consistency through shared standards and tools.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • AI fluency with judgement.
  • Strong credit/financial/risk analysis linking drivers to forward-looking views and risk appetite.
  • Practical experience embedding AI/LLMs/agents into workflows to improve productivity and insight.
  • Strong analytical tool capability; willingness to learn data/automation tools.
  • Strong synthesis into concise narratives for senior stakeholders/committees with transparent evidence.
  • Effective written and verbal communicator, able to present research and analysis clearly.
  • High standards for quality, traceability, and governance; operates effectively in controlled environments.
  • Sound judgement on responsible AI use.
  • Ability to contribute to scalable automation/agent workflows.
  • Employees are required to work from the office a minimum of two days per week.
