About the Role
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies Skate Teams are responsible for clearing the ice pregame and during television timeouts at home games. This role involves acting as a brand ambassador during game promotions and requires advanced skating abilities in a physically demanding environment.
Responsibilities
- Clear snow build-up on the ice surface during television timeouts
- Execute ice maintenance duties including shoveling, skating, and repairs with speed and accuracy
- Participate in various game promotions and activities
- Act as an ambassador for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies at home games
- Set up, execute, and tear down equipment for ice clearing and game presentations
- Represent the organization professionally at all times
- Ensure the safety of self and others
- Provide friendly and informed responses to service-related inquiries
- Communicate positively with staff, league officials, and fans
- Adhere to service standards, policies, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
Requirements
- Advanced skating ability
- Must use hockey skates (figure skates are not permitted)
- Available to work at least 60% of Toronto Maple Leafs and Marlies home games
- Flexible to work weekday shifts starting as early as 5:00 pm, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work until the end of games
- Ability to take direction and show initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable leading groups of all ages
