About the Role
As an Assistant Manager in the Paint & Powdercoat Department, you will drive production flow and material coordination, directly impacting throughput and ensuring on-time delivery targets. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with the Leadership Team, with a clear path for career advancement and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Paint & Powdercoat team, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure job targets are met.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with racking, prepping, inspecting, material handling, and gathering proper paperwork and materials to keep employees on task and promote increased throughput.
- Identify and resolve issues or inefficiencies in the Paint & Powdercoat Process, communicating with engineering and quality teams on necessary changes or missing documentation.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and continuous improvement.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Oversee the Paint & Powdercoat processes, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all team members have the necessary supplies and tools and plan ahead to prevent production gaps or downtime.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to replenish supplies.
- Review and interpret detailed work order instructions to guide the team in accurately painting parts according to specifications.
- Ensure work orders are followed meticulously to maintain high-quality standards.
- Assist with shipping coordination, including matching paperwork, working with drivers, and obtaining BOLs.
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role preferred.
- Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to create and maintain positive and professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong attention to detail.

- Ability to problem-solve issues to their root cause and implement corrective action.
