About the Role
Metergy Solutions Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable (AP) Analyst to manage vendor relationships, process invoices, and oversee outstanding accounts payable responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be analytical, communicative, and proactive in ensuring banking information accuracy and timely payments, while maintaining positive vendor relations and adhering to company policies.
Responsibilities
- Monitor outstanding AP invoices and statements of accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Process invoices with correct coding and approval to support weekly payment activities.
- Set up vendors on EFT and ensure their existing EFT information is accurate.
- Perform penny testing for new vendor EFT information to verify accuracy before future transactions.
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment disputes, or billing errors.
- Maintain positive vendor relationships by providing payment status updates and handling administrative tasks.
- Safeguard confidential company information.
- Partner with operations and management to ensure departmental workflow efficiencies and adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Provide continuous feedback to management, recommending corrective actions and process improvements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Two (2) to Three (3) years in AP or a similar role.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
- General Accounting Knowledge.
- Familiarity with the procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle.
- Familiarity with invoice processing, 3-way matching, and payment terms.
- Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to handle high volumes of transactions and meet deadlines.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with vendors, internal departments, and team members.
