About the Role

The Pharmacist is a vital patient care position in HIV and Sexual Health services, providing same-day access to new medications and refills, and medication delivery options. This role expands the capacity of the PrEP program by allowing on-site pharmacists to prescribe and dispense all forms of PrEP. The position collaborates with the clinical team to provide clinically appropriate and effective care while minimizing barriers to access.

Responsibilities

Oversee medication dispensing and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions.
Provide medication counseling on PrEP, nPEP, DoxyPEP, and all prescriptions dispensed by the pharmacy.
Engage clients in understanding and being an active partner in their medication therapy.
Collaborate with health and care teams to optimize adherence and wellness.
Comply with CA board of Pharmacy and all regulatory agency standards.

Requirements

Able to work with a diverse population and provide culturally competent customer service.
Able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Sensitivity to issues concerning HIV and all disabilities.
Retail or Specialty Pharmacy Experience.
Flexible availability for providing coverage a plus!
