About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Adult Inpatient Team at the Magnolia Unit, North Middlesex NHS Trust. This is a locum opportunity for a therapist with experience in adult neurological rehabilitation to work within a supportive multidisciplinary team, providing a high-quality service to adult inpatients with neurological conditions and complex multi-pathology presentations.

Responsibilities

Deliver a high standard of Speech and Language Therapy services to adult inpatients with neurological and complex medical conditions.
Perform comprehensive assessments of patients with diverse and complex physical, cognitive, communication, and psychological presentations.
Develop clinical diagnoses and deliver individualised treatment programmes based on assessment findings.
Independently manage your own caseload while working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
Provide advice, education, and support to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and local service standards.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, discharge planning, and service development where appropriate.

Requirements

A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration.
Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT), or eligibility to join.
Previous experience working at Band 6 level within adult inpatient or neurological rehabilitation services.
Experience assessing and managing adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including stroke patients.
Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
