About the Role

The CIB Learning Specialist collaborates with faculty and school leaders to design and deliver Community, Inclusion, and Belonging (CIB) curriculum to students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on integrating CIB principles across subject areas and the school environment, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring systematic integration of CIB components with the school's curriculum outcomes and IB Learner Profile. The objective is to foster an inclusive learning and working environment where all individuals feel valued and respected, and to empower all members of the school community, leading to a more inclusive learning environment that fosters belonging.

Responsibilities

Collaborate across academic teams to enhance and integrate an inclusive K–12 curricula.
Ensure CIB principles and civil discourse frameworks are embedded across the curriculum.
Serve as a classroom-facing resource, collaborating with teachers to navigate complex global topics and student-led civic action.
Co-design and facilitate high-impact, continuous learning for over 230 staff members on intersectional CIB relevant issues.
Act as a key collaborator on school's CIB strategic goals, equipping teachers to facilitate courageous conversations and helping students navigate disagreement.
Collaborate across the Branksome community to evolve student leadership initiatives.
Integrate communications on the CIB journey to the broader community, ensuring commitment to inclusive excellence is visible and transparent.

Requirements

Graduate degree, or equivalent, in Education, Social Sciences, Equity Studies, or a related field, or 5 years of related work experience in an educational environment.
Ongoing professional learning in areas such as inclusive curriculum design and pedagogical frameworks, anti-racism, reconciliation, and inclusive education is strongly preferred.
5 years experience developing, coordinating, or implementing community, inclusion, and belonging (CIB) initiatives within an educational or organizational setting.
Proven ability to design and facilitate CIB learning and development initiatives, including workshops, discussions, or professional learning on topics related to CIB and social justice.
Experience in cross-functional collaboration, and strong project management skills with planning events, creating inclusive resources, and supporting strategic or data-informed decision-making processes.
Demonstrated ability to apply anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and reconciliation-informed frameworks to programs and policies.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive topics or confidential information.
Capacity to work with empathy and cultural humanity.
Strong problem-solving and adaptive thinking skills, with a proactive approach to emerging CIB opportunities.
Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to inspire, engage, and mobilize others toward shared inclusion goals.
Familiarity with anti-racism or equity-focused office support is an asset.
Past experience supporting identity and culture-based affinity programs in work or school settings is an asset.
