About the Role

Join one of Canada’s top performing asset managers as an experienced Senior Business Analyst on the Enterprise Projects Team. You will play a key role in business transformation by being part of large-scale strategic initiatives across the organization within a highly skilled group of project professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Support project readiness activities including business process and workflow analysis, impact assessments, and eliciting requirements from multiple business lines.
  • Develop requirements specifications for business, functional, and acceptance criteria.
  • Produce business models and participate in agile/waterfall development cycles.
  • Oversee development considering all system implications.
  • Assist in leading assessments to understand current and future states, assess risks, and communicate findings.
  • Facilitate workshops for requirements development and clarification.
  • Critically assess requirements, decisions, and risks throughout the project.
  • Develop testing strategies with clear testing needs and acceptance criteria.
  • Report on status and project/testing metrics in an organized fashion.
  • Liaise and coordinate with various project streams and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Assume project management roles, including creating project plans, managing resources, communication, and monitoring performance, when no project manager is assigned.
  • Guide business analysis approaches and governance to ensure business goals are achieved.
  • Provide support to operational staff through coaching, guiding, and modeling key behaviors.
  • Encourage dialogue and provide guidance to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Help build business analysis skills throughout the organization through coaching and mentoring.

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in business analysis.
  • Financial services industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience supporting large-scale business and technology transformation projects from initial concept through implementation.
  • Skilled at providing leadership and guidance to project stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with building analysis/models to aid project decision-making.
  • Familiarity with leading financial industry software such as Salesforce, Arcesium, SS&C, Simcorp, Eagle Accounting is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business analysis frameworks and the project management life cycle.
  • Possess a disciplined and consistent approach to business analysis, focusing on details while maintaining the big picture.
  • Proven ability to build successful relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to lead stakeholders through challenging times and act as a trusted facilitator for conflict resolution.
  • Passion for business analysis and demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and summarize effectively.
  • Disciplined approach to problem-solving and ability to lead groups through difficult decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Excellent senior-level business documentation/writing skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in process mapping tools.
  • Experience with Engage Process mapping tool is an asset.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®) designation is an asset.
