About the Role
The Highway Project Manager serves as a fully competent engineer, developing and evaluating plans for various projects. This role involves assessing proposal feasibility, acting as a technical advisor, and managing projects such as highway design, traffic signal design, transportation planning, and impact studies. The position may require work outside normal business hours to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day client relations for individual projects.
- Oversee day-to-day staffing and project scheduling.
- Act as a concurrent project manager for multiple projects of varying complexity.
- Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance/control.
- Represent the organization in engineering-related communications and conferences.
- Train and provide technical guidance to project and staff engineers.
- Manage project schedules and budgets.
- Lead project and public meetings for complex projects.
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control.
- Provide coordination for multidiscipline projects.
- Assist in developing proposals and attend proposal interviews.
- Prepare project bills.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program or equivalent.
- 10 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure strongly desired; experience may substitute.
- Active member of a professional practice organization.
