About the Role
The Interim HR Operations Specialist drives high-quality HR service delivery across the employee lifecycle, acting as a key point of contact for US-focused and global employee queries. This role manages non-complex employee relations cases and focuses on operational excellence, leveraging systems, managing employee lifecycle processes, and ensuring payroll and benefits alignment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first-line contact for employee and manager queries, ensuring timely, helpful, and high-quality resolution.
- Manage and resolve non-complex employee relations cases, providing guidance to managers and escalating complex matters.
- Partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) for a joined-up approach to employee support and operationalizing team changes.
- Lead the research, drafting, and regular review of global HR policies.
- Translate complex policies into clear, actionable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user-friendly guidance.
- Own the operationalization phase of new policies, ensuring administrative workflows, system updates, and communication plans are executed.
- Act as the internal subject matter expert for US HR operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state-specific labor laws.
- Manage the operational nuances of a multi-state US workforce, ensuring payroll inputs and benefits administration are handled with precision.
- Liaise with US-based legal counsel and benefits brokers to ensure compliance and effective administration.
- Identify inefficiencies in current HR workflows and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the HRIS (HiBob) is fully leveraged to automate policy-driven processes, maintaining high data integrity.
- Establish "gold standard" execution for HR administrative cycles.
- Provide high-level operational support to the Global HR Operations Director on complex cases and large-scale HR initiatives.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to ensure operational processes support business unit needs.
- Oversee the maintenance of employee records and templates.
- Work closely with Payroll and Finance teams to ensure policy changes are accurately reflected in financial and compensation workflows.
- Develop clear internal communications and training materials for new HR processes.
- Serve as a key point of escalation for complex US-related operational queries.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an HR Operations role within a global organisation.
- Strong track record in policy development.
- Deep practical experience supporting US-based employees.
- Strong understanding of US employment law, benefits, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in process mapping and implementing continuous improvement methodologies.
- Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise policies and procedural documentation.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail and a "right first time" mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
