About the Role

This position involves performing incoming, set-up, in-process, and final assembly inspections at both Weber Knapp facilities. The role reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprint dimensional and functional requirements.
• Perform set-up approval and in-process/roaming inspections for all departments.
• Conduct final inspections of completed orders.
• Perform incoming inspections of purchased components.
• Assist in the calibration of measuring equipment.
• Assist in troubleshooting set-up and in-process quality issues.
• Input and maintain data in the Non-Conforming Material database.
• Maintain communication with shift supervisors, department forepersons, inspection personnel, QC Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Design regarding critical dimensions, non-conforming material, and troubleshooting dimensional issues.
• Set up and operate a coordinate measuring machine and interpret dimensional results.
• Perform other quality assurance and inspection related functions as required.

Requirements

• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to read and interpret measurement devices, including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, metal forming, welding, and machining.
• Windows PC experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to perform shop math.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate well.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Understanding of statistical principles for process control.
• Familiarity with 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience with PC-DMIS and programming coordinate measuring machines.
