About the Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will make a significant contribution to the lives of people across Westminster. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service, prioritizing the independence, dignity, choice, self-esteem, and wellbeing of service users. You will act as a source of expert advice, manage a team of OT Associates, oversee their performance, and represent the OT service at internal and external meetings. You will also ensure emergency situations are handled effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operational management of the service alongside senior colleagues.
- Prioritize the independence, dignity, choice, self-esteem, and wellbeing of service users.
- Act as a source of expert advice and guidance.
- Manage a team of OT Associates, ensuring their support and care plans meet assessed support needs.
- Oversee the performance of the OT Associates team, supporting their growth and development.
- Represent the OT service at internal and external meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure emergency situations are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with at least 5-7 years of post-qualifying experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a local authority setting.
- Great working knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Experience supervising staff.
- Capability to effectively manage group dynamics.
- Ability to promote partnership working.
- Ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary team.
- Advanced skills in the assessment, treatment, and care management of people with complex multi-pathologies.
- Ability to make effective decisions under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent people management skills.
- Enhanced DBS Check required.
