About the Role

The Fitness Director is responsible for the strategic oversight of all fitness operations, ensuring the delivery of professional, high-quality, safe, and innovative health and fitness services to members. This role shapes the overall fitness experience and culture, encompassing program management, staff development, and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and manage the fitness team to achieve or exceed budgeted sales goals.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings and provide monthly performance evaluations.
  • Oversee staff performance, ensuring clear tracking, accountability, and addressing areas of improvement.
  • Supervise the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of fitness personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and certification for fitness staff.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate fitness programs that meet member needs and align with club objectives.
  • Review and support the Group Exercise program, auditing Personal Training sessions and TEAM classes.
  • Audit Group Exercise classes for quality, variety, and member satisfaction.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by implementing training, staff incentive programs, and continuous education.
  • Demonstrate and support Invited’s service standards through staff training and daily practice.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to develop and execute quarterly strategic sales plans.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual fitness revenue targets.
  • Maximize sales across all fitness-related departments, establishing and tracking sales goals.
  • Provide weekly performance reports to ensure alignment with club and department objectives.
  • Attend continuing education events to stay updated on industry trends.
  • Ensure all staff hours and revenues are accurately recorded and verify payroll daily.
  • Lead business development efforts, including profit and loss analysis.
  • Oversee all fitness-related operations, including member services, communications, marketing, purchasing, budgeting, staffing, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure the tracking of all hours, FitStarts, and new clients on the Leaderboard.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in fitness management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role including budgeting experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in strategic and operational business planning.
  • Current required certifications: ACSM, NASM, ACE, PTA Global, NFPT, ISSA, CSCS or NSCA.
