About the Role
The FCA regulates financial services firms in the UK to ensure fair, thriving, and effective financial markets, protecting consumers and driving economic growth. This role is within the Insurance Investments and Redress team, providing advice and support on the conduct regulation of insurers, pension providers, and intermediaries during a key period of regulatory development.
Responsibilities
- Advise on the application and effect of regulatory requirements and powers to ensure firm compliance with rules, legislation, and law.
- Devise and implement creative and pragmatic solutions.
- Participate fully in the FCA’s policy development, including drafting rules and guidance for the FCA Handbook.
- Interact with colleagues across the FCA, government departments, and other financial services organizations.
- Take ownership and responsibility for discrete matters within your skill set, with appropriate supervision.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer (solicitor, barrister, Chartered Legal Executive, or overseas equivalents).
Skills
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to deliver clear analysis of issues.
- Ability to quickly learn new or novel legal issues with motivation and support.
- Ability to create solutions and deliver pragmatic, outcome-focused advice.
- Ability to advise clearly and constructively.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.

Salary/Compensations
- Edinburgh and Leeds: £47,200 to £63,000 per annum
- London: £50,300 to £67,000 per annum
