About the Role
As a systems engineer, you will serve as the primary liaison between naval warfare, C4I, and submarine forces. You will provide operational and technical expertise to ensure submarine Command and Control (C2) requirements and fleet operational needs are integrated into the GCCS-M software development lifecycle, bridging the gap between fleet operators, acquisition stakeholders, and software developers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between naval warfare, C4I, and submarine forces
- Provide operational and technical expertise for submarine Command and Control (C2) requirements
- Ensure fleet operational needs and platform constraints are incorporated into the GCCS-M software development lifecycle
- Bridge the gap between fleet operators, acquisition stakeholders, and software developers
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience aboard a U.S. Navy submarine as an enlisted sailor or officer
- Experience in submarine combat systems employment, tomahawk strike operations, third-party targeting, mission planning, and tactical kill-chain execution
- Knowledge of Target Motion Analysis (TMA), torpedo employment, tactical data links, and submarine tactical operations
- Knowledge of submarine forces operational concepts, mission planning, fleet requirements generation, and C2 operations
- Ability to collaborate effectively across operational, technical, engineering, and acquisition communities
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Secret clearance
