About the Role

Join Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital, a recognized leader in safe, patient-centered care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to start your nursing career in a supportive and caring healthcare setting on the 2 South unit, a 25-bed complex medicine unit. You will coordinate with fellow caregivers to create a welcoming, healing, and warm environment for patients, with opportunities for educational advancement and skills development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN.
  • Assist with vital signs, weight, personal care, and activities of daily living.
  • Assist with patient transfers/transport.
  • Assist with pulse oximetry and point of care testing.
  • Assist with dressing changes.
  • Assist with applying external monitoring devices.
  • Assist with removing urinary Foley catheter.
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to an RN.
  • Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross, or must obtain during new hire period.
  • Nursing students must have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire.
  • Nursing students who have completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
  • Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
  • Proficient in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an eighth-grade level.
  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients.
  • Requires manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.
  • Involves extensive standing and walking.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Must comply with the influenza prevention program, including annual influenza vaccination or approved exemption.
  • Employment offers are followed by testing for controlled substances.
