About the Role

The Finance & Credit Control Manager will take ownership of core finance operations and build one of the UK's defining consumer brands. This role involves managing accountants, running credit control, and overseeing trade debt facilities, with a priority on cash management, timely customer payments, and effective use of funding lines. It is ideal for someone comfortable with detail and the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage external accountants and bookkeeping team for accurate records and smooth month-end close.
  • Own end-to-end credit control, including managing customer accounts, chasing invoices, and controlling debtor days.
  • Manage trade debt/invoice finance facilities, including drawdowns, reconciliations, reporting, and optimizing funding.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, cash flow forecasting, and daily cash management.
  • Support monthly management accounts, budgeting, and leadership team reporting.
  • Improve and tighten financial processes and controls as the business scales.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a finance role, ideally within an SME, scale-up, or FMCG/drinks environment.
  • Solid experience of credit control and cash management.
  • Familiarity with trade debt, invoice finance, or asset-based lending facilities is a strong advantage.
  • Experience managing or coordinating accountants/bookkeepers.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with accounting software (Xero preferred).
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment.
