About the Role
The Congregate Site Coordinator manages daily operations and programming at assigned meal sites, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment while fostering community engagement and coordinating meal service logistics.
Responsibilities
- Host daily meal service and ensure a welcoming participant experience
- Monitor food temperatures and handling to meet safety and health standards
- Plan and lead social, wellness, and recreational activities
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
- Screen and process participant eligibility, intake, and program documentation
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, meal counts, and volunteer hours
- Submit timely reports and manage site inventory
- Serve as a liaison with community partners, families, and internal departments
Requirements
- Prior experience in program coordination, customer service, or community engagement
- Ability to obtain Food Handler's and CPR/First Aid certification within one month of hire
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Basic computer and email proficiency
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Meals on Wheels Central Texas
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to stand or walk for up to 5 hours at a time
- Ability to lift or transport items up to 25-35 pounds
