About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technician to join our Political Violence and Terrorism team at Price Forbes. This role provides essential technical support across the London market, including open market placements, global facilities, and Global XB. The core focus is technical understanding of placements and transactional execution within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Preparing market submissions and placing documentation including MRC’s and endorsements.
- Maintaining clear, accurate and comprehensive files reflecting the transactions undertaken on behalf of clients.
- Inviting and monitoring renewal instructions.
- Logging of all quotes and enquiries.
- Daily monitoring with NST/IBA team to monitor bad debt, cash and funding.
- Bordereaux monitoring for current binders and lineslips.
- Assisting with “know your client” due diligence procedures.
- Assisting with binding submissions via Whitespace.
- Deal with incoming enquiries from clients, insurers and other third parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor timeliness of the placement process to ensure Contract Certainty is achieved and timely invoicing is achieved.
- Assisting with production of taxation schedules for Global Programs.
- Generally providing support to the producers/brokers within the Division.
- Carrying out such projects and other duties and tasks as may from time to time be required.
Requirements
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Law of Agency and the Law of Contract to be able to perform the Principal Tasks.
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal Tasks.
- Good working knowledge of the UK regulatory requirements as they affect the business of the Terrorism Divison.
- Awareness of legal and jurisdictional requirements in territorial limits worked on and maintenance of up to date knowledge of current market practices.
- Good working knowledge of London market practices.
- Understanding of MRC and endorsements.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Lloyd’s Crystal and Risk Locator tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic placing systems (PPL/Whitespace).
- Understanding of Binding Authority procedures and bordereaux management.
- Ability to retain existing business and the confidence of the clients.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel packages.
- Ability to use the Price Forbes IT systems.
