About the Role

The Strategic Finance Manager provides rigorous, decision-ready analysis across Go-to-Market, pricing, commercial performance, and market strategy. This role combines hands-on quantitative work with the ability to translate findings into clear recommendations for a senior, commercially sophisticated audience. It is a high-autonomy position suited to a candidate motivated by exposure to genuine strategic decisions and who can take ownership of analysis from problem definition through to recommendation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain data modeling and analysis for tiering, packaging, and pricing decisions across the product portfolio.
  • Analyze feature adoption, willingness-to-pay, competitive benchmarking, and ARR impact.
  • Translate subscription and billing data into cohort performance and churn risk analysis.
  • Develop actionable commercial recommendations based on subscription and billing data.
  • Build market-sizing and segmentation models using public, third-party, and internal data.
  • Support entry into new market segments and adjacencies.
  • Act as an analytical partner to senior leadership, framing problems and building models.
  • Produce concise outputs for decision-making and communication.
  • Partner with FP&A to embed strategic GtM decisions into the annual plan, budget, and re-forecasting.
  • Ensure strategic intent is reflected in revenue and bookings targets, cost assumptions, and KPIs.
  • Prepare board-grade analysis with excellent presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Three to six years of relevant experience.
  • Experience combining a foundation in a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, EY, KPMG or PwC) or a strategy consultancy with an in-house commercial or Strategy Business Analyst role.
  • Direct experience within a SaaS or recurring-revenue business.
  • Sound understanding of SaaS metrics including ARR, net revenue retention, gross margin, CAC/LTV, and the Rule of 40.
  • Strong quantitative skill set.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are essential.
  • Ability to write SQL to source and interrogate data independently.
  • Ability to convert analysis into clear recommendations.
  • Effective communication of recommendations in writing and presentations to a senior audience.
  • High standard of ownership and accuracy.
  • Discipline to validate assumptions before presenting conclusions.
  • Confidence to challenge findings that do not hold up.
  • Experience within a private-equity-backed business and familiarity with associated reporting cadence and scrutiny (Desirable).
  • Familiarity with a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake) and a business intelligence tool (e.g., Power BI) (Desirable).
  • Confident use of AI tools as part of day-to-day working practice (Desirable).
  • Sector interest in education, the public sector, or B2B software (Desirable).
  • Intellectually rigorous and transparent.
  • Prioritizes accuracy over presentation.
